Permission to prioritize creativity {Client success story}
During last week’s Creative Oasis Masterclass, I shared empowering ways to prioritize your creative dreams.
When my client Ellis was in grad school she knew what to do - what was required - when and what to write - deadlines were built in.
But after she earned her MFA in creative writing that all changed.
For almost a year, rather than focus on her poetry, Ellis spent the majority of her time and energy fulfilling other obligations.
Not because those obligations were more important than her poems, but because that’s what she’d always done in the past, so it was the most familiar and therefore comfortable.
With a few weeks of working together this spring she has:
Let go of teaching and volunteer duties that no longer align with her dream
Intentionally restructured her weeks to include more time dedicated to her poetry
Prioritized completing a collection of poems
Celebrated that 5 of her poems have been accepted and published in literary journals in the past two months
During a recent coaching session Ellis said: “Giving myself permission to prioritize my poetry has been a game changer for me.”
She’s devoting time and energy to what matters most and making intentional choices that make the best use of her education, talent and passions.
As her coach, I can see her confidence growing and her capacity to make and trust her decisions around her writing career strengthening.
She now has 2 times a week to focus completely on her creative journey that has helped her to go further, faster and have more fun doing so than she once thought possible.
In addition to our weekly coaching calls, all of my clients enjoy a weekly group Magic Action Date ~ a 75-minute co-creation time.
This means they know they’ll have at least two scheduled times a week dedicated fully to moving their creative dreams forward.
Book your Creative Oasis Clarity Call this week and by the end of summer, giving yourself permission to prioritize your creative endeavors and celebrating the successes you create will be your new normal!
