Last night I dreamt of war...
Last night I dreamt of war. Of attempting to flee a place by a train that would not come.
It was terrifying.
But then I woke up in the peace and comfort of my warm bed in a safe place.
My first thought was of the terror and danger being faced today by the people of Ukraine.
That this is not a nightmare they will wake from, but a horrific reality for them.
How do we hold the dichotomy of it all?
That a world with the realities of war is also a world with safety, beautiful art being created, people lifting each other up, laughter, music and light?
This is always true.
Life is a beautiful, messy, contradictory combination of the good and the bad.
My wish for you is that you show yourself grace as you do your best to hold it all.
To cry as much as you need and then laugh when the opportunity presents itself without feeling guilty.
To educate yourself about world events and then do your creative work without judging yourself.
To offer aid however you feel called (by praying, sending money, sharing resources and information) and also take time to care for yourself (take a walk, eat something healthy and delicious, enjoy some creative play, call a friend.)
Shared with love, light and prayers for peace.
