In conversation with creatives from all around the world during my residency, one thing we often share in common is the voices in our head that stop us from prioritizing our creative callings are often not our own. 

Creative work isn't "real" work.

Your ideas don't make sense. 

You don’t have the proper training.

Other people need your time and attention now.

Someone else in your family is/was the “real” creative.

No one will care anyway.

It's selfish.
