Why Saying Yes To Creative Reboot Was The Best Decision I've Made In Recent Memory

[embed]https://youtu.be/vptc10jRiqE[/embed]My trip to Santa Fe last week was filled to overflowing with magical moments. I experienced so many heemeesheemees that I lost count! You’ve heard the term, “Embarrassment of Riches?” That’s the way this trip felt to me.I’m still in awe of the number of kindred creative spirits I connected with, the profound personal transformation I experienced and the overall sense of energized rejuvenation and peaceful clarity I continue to feel now that I’m back home in Dallas.I’m giving myself permission to take my time processing it all, so you can count on hearing more about my experiences in the coming weeks.Today, I want to share this ONE take away with you. Yes ~ I had to sacrifice things to attend the Creative Reboot conference in Santa Fe. Time. Money. Airline miles.Yes ~ I came home to a week jam-packed with Creative Oasis classes and workshops to teach, networking events, business meetings and coaching calls leaving zero time for anything but the most essential next small steps. Meaning…Yes ~ It’s now already FRIDAY and I still have not unpacked my suitcase (other than my running shoes and toothbrush) and my house is a freakin’ disaster!(This thanks in small part to my daughter whose generous offer to come home from college to take care of our dog, Allie, apparently didn’t include things such as putting dirty dishes into the dishwasher or pizza boxes into the trash.)AND YET!!!! ~ Would I trade a minute of my time away attending a soul-nurturing creative retreat in Santa Fe for anything?Absolutely Not!!! It was so worth every minute, penny and mile!Taking the opportunity to practice what I preach by giving myself permission to step away from my day-to-day existence and into a magical space of creative exploration, play, relaxation and rejuvenation was exactly what my soul was craving! (I don’t want to be a “do as I say ~ not as I do” coach for you.)I truly believe that’s why I was so richly rewarded in so many ways in Santa Fe. It’s like my creative spirit and the universe saying:“Way to go, Jill!!! You did it!You checked in with your intuition when your friend, Kathy Groppe, mentioned in passing that she’d be attending this thing called Creative Reboot and you felt an immediate “Hell Yes!” and then you figured out a way to make it happen ~ so we’re gonna let you thank Julia Cameron in-person for the important role her book "The Artist's Way" played in jumpstarting the non-linear path that led you to your soul work as a creativity coach and she will look you in the eyes and say ~ 'You’re Welcome.' You didn’t let worries about what other people might think about your spending (wasting?) time and money on this creative retreat stop you ~ so we’re gonna let you have a beautiful soul connection with the amazing Melody Ross of Brave Girls' Club! You honored yourself by saying yes to playful creative self-care! Woo-hoo! We’re gonna let you meet, hang out and have some fun with Flora Bowley for a while! (author of Creative Revolution and Brave Intuitive Paintings)You showed up without the need to control the situation and simply trusted that you would be in the right place at the right time! We’re gonna have Laura West, founder of the Center for Joyful Business, who you worked with years ago but have never met in person, sit you right next to you in your first workshop!”My fabulous, positive experiences in Santa Fe also felt like a huge affirmation from the universe that women absolutely need the Creative Oasis Retreats I host right here in my home in Dallas!Next weekend I’m hosting my first fall Creative Oasis Retreat ~ Tiny Creative Joy & Tarot. I’d love for you to join me! (If you don’t live in the DFW metroplex and want to attend, please contact me directly about upgrading your retreat to include adding overnight accommodations.)Next month, in addition to my Dallas retreats, I'll also host my first destination retreat in one of my favorite Creative Oasis Spaces on the planet ~ Breckenridge, Colorado ~ October 26 ~ 29. (*Only two spots remain available as of this writing.)When’s the last time you stepped away from your never-ending to-do list, ignored your inner-critic “there’s~not~enough~time~or~money~what~will~people-think?!?!~voice” and instead tapped into your inner wisdom and said “Hell Yes!” to a rejuvenating experience for your creative spirit? If it’s been way too long ~ or not that long but you’re craving another soul-nurturing creative experience NOW ~ I invite you to give yourself permission to be on the look out for the universe to send an opportunity your way.For a friend to mention a workshop or a book she’s reading that instantly make the hair on the back of your neck stand up!For a book to literally fall off the shelf in front of you that leads to some scrumptious creative self-care!For an invitation to arrive in your mailbox inviting you to attend something unexpected and intriguing. My sincere wish for you is that whatever it may look like for you, that you’ll give yourself permission to take some time ~ whether it be a week, a day or even an hour ~ to relax into some rejuvenating creative “me” time so that you too get to experience the amazing feelings of true well-being.All the best from my Creative Oasis to yours ~Jillxoxo
