Following the Strange Pull of What You Love
I've been a fan of Elizabeth Gilbert and her take on the creative process for years.
She advocates following your curiosity (or the "strange pull of what you love" as Rumi says) to see where it leads you ~ because it's true ~ you never know where it might lead!
Tuesday evening I followed the pull of two things I deeply love:
#1 ~ Helping women give themselves permission to use laughably doable small steps to live the creative lives they crave.
#2 ~ Supporting a program that helps women in war-torn Africa positively transform their lives by teaching the creative skill of sewing.
Which led me to create and share a fun evening of coloring and creative self-care.
Which led to a group of more than 50 people gathering to attend our Coloring for the Congo fundraiser.
Which, I'm delighted to share, led to raising more than enough money to send 10 more women through the next session of the life-changing sewing school run by Congo Restoration!
Want to see where you creative curiosity will lead you? Consider joining me for an all-new program I'll be offering next month.
*Note: 5 of the 12 seats will be VIP and include a 3rd row center seat to see Elizabeth Gilbert live on her Big Magic tour here in Dallas on May 10th, plus a one-on-one creative coaching session and Creative Oasis Date with me.
Happily celebrating a successful evening with my creative cohort in
Coloring for the Congo, Dawn McMullan!
All the best from my always curious Creative Oasis to yours,
Jill
P.S. ~ I've searched and searched to find the name of the artist who created the beautiful visual quote above but with no luck. If you happen to know please share so I can give credit where it's due! Thanks!
