Good Job!

A neighbor walking her dogs gave me a thumbs up and said “Good job!” as I ran by her this morning.

In addition to making me smile, it made me stop and give myself credit.

• You woke up early and got your run in before it was too hot. Good job.

• You started slowly weaving running back into your cardio over the last few months. Good job.

• You’re back up to 3 miles. Good job.

I help my clients practice celebrating the small steps they take along the way to their goals.

When we stop to give ourselves credit for what’s working, our mind wants more of that! It’s much easier and feels much better to build our habits (creative or otherwise) from a place of “good job” rather than “not good enough.”

Let’s say you want to write and while writing for 15-minutes three times in a week every day your thought is “This isn’t good enough.”

How likely do you think it is that you will stick with your writing practice for the long haul?

Versus, you write the same amount ~ 15-minutes three times in a week ~ but while intentionally thinking, “Good job! You’re writing!”

By doing this you send the signal of success to your brain!  (Your brain will love you for this.)

You learn how to become the writer who writes consistently.

You gently build a strong creative habit.

Curious to know how working with me 1-1 could help you help you show up for your creative dreams and desires on a consistent basis rather than once in a blue moon and feel good doing it?

Book a Creative Oasis Clarity Call and let’s set up a time to chat about it.

Shared with love, light and the belief that your creative dreams deserve to be brought to life and the world needs you to do so now more than ever! ~ Jill
