Are You Ready For 100 Days Of Happy?
Last fall I took part in the #100happydays challenge and so loved the experience that I’m diving in again! The image above was my final post for my previous challenge. If you visit my #100HappyDays board on pinterest, you’ll notice that I actually posted 103 photos last go round because I kind of messed up on numbering my photos and lost track. That I didn't go back and change this is a great example of how creative coaching has helped me greatly reduce my perfectionism. (And a nod to the fact that numbers aren’t my strong suit.)Why am I taking the #100happydays challenge again and inviting you to join me?There’s something beautiful, uplifting and inspiring about taking the time to be grateful for the people, places, and things that bring us happiness. It helps us shift our focus and away from the bad, difficult and sad things in our lives to the good, lovely and joyful. (The above photo inspired the Creative Oasis Mantra below.)For another, the #100HappyDays challenge provides a nice little low-pressure creative experience once a day of taking and sharing a photo with the world! It also helps you easily create a lovely, little record of a certain time in your life in much the same way a journal or scrapbook does. (Bonus: you can do this in a very simple, not time-consuming way.)When I look back through my 103 photos from my previous challenge I'm reminded of all of the wonderful experience I enjoyed within that 14 or 15 week period of my life last year. (I may even have a little book printed with them all someday soon!)It’s also a nice reminder that we get to choose where we put our attention each day. Do we want to wallow in the stress or swim through the sublime? As I like to remind my daughter, though we don’t have control of every circumstance that comes our way, we do have control over how react to it. (Here’s a 1-minute video that drives this point home beautifully.)
